MIRA MISSION
MIRA is the new international society for minimally invasive robotic surgery.
We invite surgeons, internists, radiologists, engineers and computer scientists with interests in robotics, telerobotics, telepresence, teleconferencing and telementoring to join this new organization.
The mission of the Minimally Invasive Robotic Association (MIRA) is to raise the level of robotic surgery care in the world.

In accordance with the mission statement
- To act as the representative body for all robotic surgeons and other allied specialties using robotic technology in health care and thus facilitate the continued development of robotic surgery and all its sub-specialties;
- To foster and proliferate the highest standards of robotic surgery care throughout World:
- To encourage minimally invasive and robotic research and enable the broadcasting of its results;
- To promote contributions to the medical and scientific literature by its members;
- To promote minimally invasive and robotic achievements worldwide;
- To establish standards for training and worldwide minimally invasive and robotic practice;
- To contribute in determining worldwide minimally invasive and robotic health care policies
MIRA achieves its mission through a variety of scientific, educational and publishing activities including the coordination of meetings and educational courses, distribution of (semi) scientific literature and clinical practice guidelines.
